A program for distribution of Niramaya Health Insurance Cards to the beneficiaries was arranged on 11.05.2022 at the premises of Chetana Child Development Centre. The chief guest of the function, Shri Prakash J Shettigar, Founder, Spoorthi School for Special Children, Moodabidri distributed 48 Health Cards to the beneficiaries who got enrolled, afresh, in the scheme. In his address, the chief guest stressed the need to consider both normal and special children as children only and also equally consider to nurture them for their better future. Further, he added that special schools like Chetana Child Development School are taking much efforts to bring Divyang to the main stream by providing required education/treatment than normal schools where the teaching faculty cannot focus on the motivational education essential for such children. He appreciated Seva Bharathi team for its yeoman service being rendered to the neglected community by facilitating Divyang to avail various facilities of Government scheme. The trustees and volunteers of Seva Bharathi, teachers and staff, Divyang Children with their parents gathered in good number.

Seva Bharathi arranged a program to distribute cards of Niramya Health Insurance Scheme and certificates of Legal Guardianship on 06.05.2022. Shri N Shashi Kumar, I.P.S, Commissioner of Police, Mangaluru was the chief guest in the function and distributed 27 health cards/certificates to the beneficiaries. While distributing the certificates he enquired the family details, the routine activities etc. of each and every divyang to understand area of their challenges and encouraged them by inspiring words. The chief guest visited various units/activities of Seva Bharathi ® and collected information of respective services. He expressed that Seva Bharathi achieved a lot in such a field which is considered tough to materialize. The Divyang children presented bouquet, writing pad, bag and file cover etc. prepared by them to the chief guest.

In view of receiving renewed Niramaya Health Insurance Cards and fresh Legal Guardianship Certificates in bulk from National Trust, GOI., Seva Bharathi ® organized two functions to distribute the same to the beneficiaries. Shri H Nagaraj Bhat, Hon. Secretary, Seva Bharathi ® & retired Chief Manager, Corporation Bank and Shri P Vinod Shenoy, Treasurer, Seva Bharathi ® & Entrepreneur distributed cards/certificates on 04.05.2022 to the beneficiaries. Smt. Prameela, Trustee, Seva Bharathi ® & the Professor, Government First Grade College and Shri Umesh Shenoy, Convener, Anantha Soukhya, a forum of Seva Bharathi ® to serve senior citizens & retired General Manager, Canara Bank distributed cards/certificates on 05.05.2022 to the beneficiaries. Thus a total of 162 cards/certificates distributed to the beneficiaries.

During these two distribution program benefits of these schemes were briefed to the beneficiary and some of them gave good feedback in appreciation of the Seva Bharathi’s effort in assisting Divyang.

Anatha Soukhya, a forum of Seva Bharathi ® Mangalore working for senior citizens organized Bone Density Test with consultation on 01.05.2022 at Chetana Child Development Centre premises. Dr. K R Kamath, Orthopedic Surgeon & HOD, KMC, Mangalore and Team cooperated in the Bone Density Test and consultation. Totally 116 beneficiaries utilized the opportunity. The trustees of Seva Bharathi ®. Volunteers, Physiotherapy staff were present during the occasion.

The ‘Mass Birthday’ of Special children enrolled at Chetana Child Development Centre was arranged on 09.04.2022 in the school. Sri Chennayya Swamy, Entrepreneur was the chief guest and Smt. Sumathi V Shenoy, President of Seva Bharathi presided over the function.

The teachers entertained the children by singing and dancing. The Headmistress and the mothers of Divyang children putting tilak on the forehead, showed Arathi, gave sweets and presented toys as birthday gift.

Dignitaries on dais and the elite persons/couples invited for the function spoke on the occasion. Sri Nagaraj Bhat, Hon. Secretary of Seva Bharathi, Trustees of Seva Bharathi, Teaching and non-teaching staff, volunteers and parents of Divyang were present during the occasion. The function ended with lunch.
