The 73rd republic day celebration was celebrated in the premises of Roman & Catherine Lobo Residential School for Visually Impaired on 26th January 2022. The chief guest of the day Dr Shibin Girish, Ophthalmologist of Prasad Netralaya, Mangaluru unfurled the National Flag. The Trustees of Seva Bharathi Mr Vinod Shenoy and T Gajanana Pai and the visiting consultant Dr Sudhindra were present during the occasion. The students and teachers along with all the participants, took part in the pledge and recitation of preamble of the constitution.

Republic Day Celebration at Chetana Child Development Centre

73rd Republic Day was celebrated on 26.01.2022 at Chetana Child Development Centre. The Headmistress of the school with 02 challenged children unfurled the National Flag. The National Anthem was sung collectively. Students sang patriotic songs and exhibited mass drill. The trustees, volunteers of Seva Bharathi and teaching/non-teaching staff, parents present during the occasion. Program ended with distributing sweets.

Covid Vaccination at Adamya Chetana

Seva Bharathi conducted 1st & 2nd dose Covid Vaccination camp at Adamya Chetana Day Care Centre, Ullal in association with Dakshina Kannada District Health Authorities. 1st dose camp was held on 28.05.2021, in which 76 Divyang people were vaccinated and in the 2nd dose camp held on 26.08.2021, in which 65 were vaccinated. The office bearers of the Dakshina Kannada unit of Karnataka State Association for Special Educators and Supporting Staff ® and the local volunteers assisted in smooth conducting of the camps. Refreshment/lunch served to covid warriors and all the beneficiaries of both the camps.

Visit to Special Schools at Karkala Taluk

A study tour of teaching and non-teaching staff of Chetana Child Development Centre(CCDC) was held on 04.12.2021 to two special schools in Karkala Taluk i.e Chetana Special School, Anekere and Vijetha Residential Special School, Kukkundoor. In both the schools the team members visited/viewed every activity in depth with interacting the staff and children. In both the schools a get together was arranged wherein everyone could exchange their views for improvements in their respective fields. The founder member and also the president of Seva Bharathi Trust, Mangaluru, Smt. Sumathi V Shenoy felicitated at Vijetha Special School and appreciated her social services in general and committed services to Divyang category in particular. The CCDC team also visited Rama Krishna Ashram at Erlapady Village and met Shri Shri Shri Vinayakanandaji Swamiji and have the blessings. The team also viewed the beauty of nearby Durga Water Falls and visited Koti Chennayya Theme Park at Karkala.

Awareness programs on Divyang Schemes conducted by Seva Bharathi

Seva Bharathi, in association with District Disability Welfare Office, conducted awareness program/ workshop under “Arivu” campaign on Legal Guardianship, Niramaya Health Insurance Scheme and Unique Disability Identity Card for Divyangs on 7-10-2021 at Kilpady Panchayat, Mulky, 27-10-2021 at Gurupura Panchayat and 30-10-2021 at Adamya Chetana Day Care Centre,Ullal. The Officials of the respective Grama Panchayat teams co-operated in arranging/mobilizing the beneficiaries for the program.

Shri Ganesh Pai and Shri Ganaraja Y, the volunteers of Seva Bharathi ® delivered a talk with a question and answer session at each workshop where the above said facilities extended by Government of India and Government of Karnataka for the upliftment of divyangs were discussed/explained in detail. Out of the applications distributed among the parents of Divyangs in these workshops, 06 application for Legal Guardianship, 40 for Niramaya Health Insurance Scheme and 15 for UDID were received processed for approval of the concerned authority.
