Adamya Chetana Day Care Centre for Divyang at Ullal re-opened on 09.11.2021, after a long gap due to Corona pandemic. The school opening ceremony was arranged in a grand way by decorating the school. Divyang Children were welcomed in a traditional way by performing Arati, putting kunkum on the forehead of Divyang. Teachers welcomed the children by giving flowers to each, made by the staff using colour papers.

Saplings of different flowers and fruits were planted in and around the school premises by Divyang. Normal activities of the day care centre were carried out followed by a lunch by the management.

All the teachers and office staff of Adamya Chetana Day Care Centre are Covid vaccinated and the centre is taking all covid precautions and safety measures as per the guidelines issued by the government from time to time.

Handing over of Desktops/Laptop to Seva Bharathi

The Servam Safety (P) Ltd., Chennai, under its CSR provisions, donated latest 04 Desktops and a Laptop for upgrading the office systems in the units of Seva Bharathi. On behalf of Sarvam Safety (P) Ltd., Smt. Saraswathi M Shetty and Smt. Vinatha B Kajava handed over the systems to Seva Bharathi on 09.11.2021 in a function held at Seva Bharathi building. The guests visited the activities of Chetana Child Development Centre, had a conversation with Divyang Children. They highly appreciated the services to Divyang children being extended by Seva Bharathi in different spheres. Shri H Nagaraj Bhat, Hon. Secretary conveyed thanks to the donors.

Smt. Varsha Shenoy in memory of her husband late U Sudhir Shenoy, Mangaluru and Smt. Seema, Arekere, Micro Layout, Bangalore also donated Desktops to Seva Bharathi for its office purposes.

After a long period, on account of Corona pandemic, Chetana Child Development Centre re-opened on 08.11.2021. Hence, the school opening ceremony was arranged in a grand way on the day by arranging procession with Mangalavadya. The School was decorated with rangoli and by lighting lamps. Divyang Children were welcomed in a traditional way by performing Arati, putting kunkum on the forehead of every child. Flower pot crackers were showered to make the children more joy and happy. Teachers sung a welcome song and the children collectively repeated it.

Sri. Gopalakrishna, District Disabled Welfare Officer, Dakshina Kannada, Mangaluru was present as a chief guest of the day, wished for the betterment of the children. Kumari Nirmala also present on behalf of the DDW department.

The chief guest and Sri H Nagaraj Bhat, Hon. Secretary, Seva Bharathi released two pigeons to commemorate the opening of the school.

Smt. Sumathi V Shenoy, President, Seva Bharathi, Smt. Supreetha, Headmistress of the school, Trustees, Volunteers,Teaching and non-teaching staff, parents of Divyang were present during the occasion.

Distribution of Niramaya Health Insurance Scheme cards to Divyang

Seva Bharathi organised a program on 06.11.2021 at the premises of Chetana Child Development Centre for distributing the cards of Niramaya Health Insurance Scheme to Divyang and also to create awareness on the facility extended to Divyang community by National Trust of Government of India.

Shri Vedavyas Kamath, Hon’ble MLA for Mangalore (South) presided over the function. Distributing 35 Niramaya Cards to the beneficiaries, in his address he lauded the services being extended by Seva Bharathi through its various units, he assured Seva Bharathi his whole hearted support for all its activities, whenever demanded. He visited to various activities/class rooms in the main building of Seva Bharathi and appreciated initiatives taken up for betterment of Divyang children attending daily.

In the beginning, Shri H Nagaraj Bhat Hon. Secretary, introducing Seva Bharathi activity area, welcomed the gathering. Shri Ganesh Pai and Shri Ganaraja Y enlightened on the benefits of having legal guardians for identified divyang category, Niramaya Health Insurance Scheme and possessing UDID cards. The process of applying/getting these certificates/cards were also discussed in the question and answer session.

Shri Narasimha Raju, Volunteer proposed vote of thanks. Smt. Sumathi V Shenoy, President, Seva Bharati along with other Trustees, Seva Bharathi Volunteers, Teaching and Non teaching staff were present in the occasion.

A workshop on Alzheimer’s-Pick Early

A talk/workshop on “Alzheimer’s-Pick Early” in connection with “World Alzheimer’s Month” was conducted in association with ‘P A G E’ for senior citizens on 23.09.2021 at the conference hall, Chetana Child Development Centre.

Dr. Prabha Adhikari, a renowned Physician and expert on Geriatric Care, the Chief Guest of the function spoke on the occasion and explained the necessity of early detection of any disease is always helpful for its management especially non-curable disease like Alzheimer’s.

Dr. Raghavendra Rao, well known Neurologist gave a talk about the presence of dementia in all age groups which would leads to Alzheimer in his/her old age, by quoting a lot of examples. He urged that the people of all age group should follow ‘recall ’ theory so that facing Alzheimer can be avoided/postponed in one’s life.

There was also question & answer session followed by general and aerobic exercises conducted by the team of Dr. Prabh Adhikari. The response of the participants made the experts happy. The experts advised to make the exercise a routine practice in their daily life.
