Conduct of Ayurveda Consultation Camp

Anantha Soukhya, a forum of Seva Bharathi® Mangalore conducted Ayurveda Consultation Camp for Senior Citizens in association with Vedamarogya Ayurveda Hospital and Pharmacy Mangaluru on Sunday, the 5th May 2024 at conference hall of Chetana School. Dr. Sachin Nadka , MD(Ayu.) and Dr. G Anusha, MD(Ayu.) the Ayurvedic physicians, in presence of the Shri H Nagraj Bhat, Hon. Secretary Seva Bharathi and Shri Umesh Shenoy, Convenor of Anantha Soukhya lit the lamp and inaugurated the camp. Dr. Nadka while addressing the gathering, gave some tips to maintain good health. He added that medicines will work only if one follows the advice given by the physicians. In the beginning, Secretary, Seva Bharathi (R.) welcomed the gatherings with a brief introduction on Seva Bharathi. Shri Umesh Shenoy proposed vote of thanks. A total of 53 members benefitted the consultation provided with selected prescribed medicines, free of cost.

A talk on ‘health in our hands- Acupressure’

Anantha Soukhya conducted a talk on ‘health in our hands- Acupressure’ meant for all age group on Saturday, the 2nd March 2024 at conference hall of Chetana School. Experienced acutherapist Shri K Ramakrishna Kamath, Mangaluru, was the chief guest who was present to conduct the camp, lit the lamp, with the Seva Bharathi office bearers and inaugurated the camp. In his address he stated that pain in any parts of the body will reflect in hands and pressing the hand at the specific portion is a remedy to set aside the said pain. So, acupressure can be practiced by anyone with no cost, to get rid of their ailments. During practical session, he had one to one discussion with the participants and advised proper way of acupressure. In the beginning, Shri B Prakash Pai welcomed chief guest and the gatherings with a brief introduction on activities of Seva Bharathi. Shri H Nagaraj Bhat, Hon. Secretary, Seva Bharathi (R.) and Shri Umesh Shenoy, the convener of Anantha Soukhya were present on the dais. A total of 74 members participated in the program and appreciated the simple way of explaining easy and inexpensive solution for the common problems faced by large number of people, particularly elders.

Conduct of Medical & Dental check-up camp at Madhava Vana campus

Anantha Soukhya, a forum of Seva Bharathi ® Mangalore working for the welfare of Senior citizens, conducted Medical and Dental checkup camp on 28.01.2024 at Madhava Vana Campus, Montepadau, Naringana Village of Ullal Taluk in association with the Directorate of Extension and Outreach activity, Yenepoya (Deemed to be University) Yenepoya Medical College and Hospital, and Dept. of Public Health Dentistry, Yenepoya Dental College and Hospital, Deralakatte. During inauguration of the camp, Dr. K R Kamath, HOD (Ortho), KMC Mangalore and also the Trustee of Seva Bharathi®, Dr. Sathvik, Dept. of Gen. Medicine, Yenepoya Medical College, Veteran doctors, Dr. Aravinda Pai Manipal & Dr. Sadananda Kamath Mangalore and Shri M C Shankar Bhat, Chief Priest, Shri Durgaparameshwari Math, Montepadau were present. All the guests on the dais lit the lamp as a token of conducting the first medical camp in the mega campus having multiple purposes. In the welcome address, Dr. K R Kamath briefed Seva Bharathi’s activities and upcoming projects only to serve Specially challenged children. Shri Prakash Pai senior volunteer of Seva Bharathi extended vote thanks. In the camp check-up/consultation was done in the files of General Medicine, Orthopedics, Ophthalmology, OBG, Pediatric, ECG, BP and Sugar test and Dental Check-up and more than 50 persons benefited from the Camp.

Staging of Yakshagana by divyang children

The divyang children of Chetana Child Development Centre staged it’s well-famed yakshagana masterpiece ‘Jambavati Kalyana’ on 26.01.2024 at the forum provided by ‘Kudla Cultural Foundation’ during ‘Mangaluru Street Food Fiesta’ held from 24 to 28 January 2024 at Karavali Utsava Ground, Bhrahmashree Narayana Guru Circle, Mannagudda, Mangaluru. The show was highly appreciated though applauds by the large audience. Shri S S Baikampady, the organizing Secretary of Kudla Cultural Foundation while thanking & presenting a memento to the Chetana team to train the children to be able to present the art forms, equally to normal artists, despite the limitations they possess in vocabulary, hearing, physic & eyesight. The trustees of Seva Bharathi® Mangalore Shri P Vinod Shenoy, Shri Gajanana Pai & School Head mistress of Smt. Suprita were present during occasion. Thanks a lot, to Kudla Foundation for giving an ‘opportunity to specially abled children’ to ‘present their ability’ in an open forum.

Conducting a tour of Divyang

Ashjyothi a forum of Divyang and their parents, under it’s activity to have a tour of divyang to the places of importance once a year, has conducted a tour to Kunjarugiri(which is also a hill area where Durga Parameshwari Temple exists) and Pajaka Kshethra (the birth place of Sri Vasudeva Bhatta who later become Shri Madhwacharya) on 24.12.2023. Evening while returning, divyangs also enjoyed at the tree park and sea shore at beautiful Tannirbavi beach. A total of 196 members including divyang children, their parents, teachers and volunteers participated in the tour.
