Various cultural programs were staged by the children of Chetana Child Development Centre Mangaluru and Roman and Catherine Lobo Residential School for Visually Impaired Mangaluru on 20.09.2023 at Sarvajanika Shri Ganeshotsava, Pratapanagara, Mangaluru. The children of Chetana presented Bhajan in group, a skit on birth of Shri Ganesha and a narrative on coastal districts “Tulunada Vaibhava”, Solo singing and a skit on the ‘Helen Keller’ who led the life for visually impaired. Well-known builder of the city Shri Shrinath Hebbar, the chief guest of occasion appreciated the talent exhibited by the children, handed over presented mementoes to the head of the schools. The school management conveyed thanks to the organisers for giving an opportunity to present the talents of divyang on the reputed Ganeshotsava forum.

The Chetana child development Centre(CCDC), Mangaluru being the convener of the Local Level Committee (LLC) of National Trust arranged a function on 12.9.2023 at Auditorium of the school for handing over the certificates to Legal Guardians of divyang. Smt. Renu Nair, Field General Manager, Union Bank of India, Zonal Office, Mangaluru was the as Chief Guest on the occasion and and Shri M Gopalakrishna, District Disabled Welfare Officer for Dakshina Kannada, Dept. for the Empowerment of differently abled and Sr. Citizens, Zilla Panchayat Building, Mangaluru was the Guest of honor. Shri H Nagraj Bhat, Secretary and Shri P Vinod Shenoy, Treasurer of Seva Bharathi, members of Local Level Committee, Smt. Suprita, Head mistress and staff with children of CCDC, beneficiary Legal Guardians were present in the function.

Chetana Child Development Centre, Mangaluru celebrated ‘Shri Krishna Janmashtami’ on 6.9.2023 in full devotion and enthusiasm. In the beginning, teachers chanted Shri Krishna Ashtothara. Bhajnans were also sung collectively, followed by Mangalarathi. Tottilu (cradle) Pooja and ‘Mosaru Kudike’ (breaking the pot) was performed. The trustees of Seva Bharathi, the HM of Chetana school with children & teachers, parents were present.

‘Rakshabandan’ celebrated at Chetana School

Unique and traditional festival ‘Raksha Bandhan’ was celebrated at Chetana Child Development Centre, V T Road Mangaluru on 30.8.2023 in a simple but meaningful function. The teachers applied ‘Bindi’ on the forehead, shown ‘Arati’, tied ‘Rakhi’ at wrists and gave sweets to all the school children. The children joyfully enjoyed the occasion. Seva Bharathi Trustees, the HM with teachers, school children, parents & well wishers present during the occasion.

To commemorate ‘Aazadi ka Amrith Mahotsava’ of ‘Bharath’, Valentia branche of St. Milagres credit Souharda Co-operative Society Ltd. distributed the items like bedsheets and other items to divyangs of Chetana Child Development Centre, V T Road Mangaluru in a function arranged on 25.8.2023 at Chetana school. The Chief Guest of the function Dr. Siddaraju, M.A. Phd.(Botony) & IQAC Co-coordinator, University College, Mangalore spoke stressing the need to support both the divyang children and the institutions like Chetana School who honestly strive hard to uplift the all-round life conditions of divyang community. Shri Nagaraj Bhat, Hon. Secretary and Shri Vinod Shenoy, Treasurer of Seva Bharathi, Smt. Suprita, H M of Chetana School, Shri Naresh Kini, Social worker were present on the dais. The children and parents of the school, Branch Managers and staff of the St. Milagres Society, volunteers and well-wishers of Seva Bharathi were present during the occasion.
