A unique service by Seva Bharathi

Introduction

Since years, the parents of Divyangs are asking Seva Bharathi ‘What would be the future of our child?’. On the other hand, they want Seva Bharathi to share their worry.

This made Seva Bharathi to plan to have a permanent shelter/stay home with all the facilities, presently extended by Seva Bharathi for Divyang, through it’s various units, under one umbrella.

Co-incidentally, land belonging to late Dr. Madhava Kamath measuring 5.97 acres at Montepadavu in Neringana Village, Bantwal Taluk was donated to Seva Bharathi and the land got registered in the name of Seva Bharathi during March 2020.

Fortunately, God sent savior, Infosys Foundation come forward, to build the unique cum mega project.

The said land has been named ‘Madhava Vana’, as per the wishes of the donor. The family of the donor is pleased to know that proposed project, being materialized with the name of the donor.

Thus, dream project of Seva Bharathi is going to be reality soon.

Objectives

Providing permanent stay home for differently abled children (Divyang) with Day care Centre including all kinds of health care, therapeutical treatments, skill development, General and Social Education under one roof.

Target Group

Children and also adults with all types of disabilities.

Location

Montepadavu in Neringana village, Bantwal Taluk, Dakshina Kannada 25 kms away from Mangaluru city. It is at a distance of 13 kms., towards Mangalore University, from Tokkottu Junction in Mangalore – Kasargod National High way (N H 66-Mumbai to Kanayakumari).

February – March 2020	:	Measuring the land, processing for it’s registration/clearance, appealed the donors for fund, Registering the land for Seva Bharathi.
April 2020	:	Conservatory works such as providing fencing, cleaning, compound wall to the land.
April – June 2020	:	Processing the construction plan, review and approval
July to August 2020	:	Marking the land areas for Tree Park, road, wells, buildings, free area etc. Planting varieties of saplings at the space year mark for tree park in association with voluntary organizations. Thanks to the initiation taken by Shri C A Giridhar Kamath, Mangalore and team.
September 2020	:	Anticipating shortage of water due to requirement for proposed main building construction work and sprinkling of water to the newly planted saplings, the work of digging two wells was commenced in September 2020. Bhoomi Pooja and Foundation Stone Laying Ceremony held on Friday the 23rd October 2020 at 11.45 am on the auspicious day of Durgashtami. Shri Kota Shrinivas Poojary, Hon. Minister, Muzrai, Fisheries, Port, Inland Transport, Govt. of Karnataka and also District i/c Minister of Dakshina Kannada District laid the foundation stone. Smt. Meenakshi Shanthigodu, President, Dakshina Kannada Zilla Panchayath, representatives of Infosys Foundation, Trustees and Volunteers of Seva Bharathi, Donors and Well wishers, the villagers in large number were present during the occasion.
October 2020	:	Shri Kajampady Subrahmanya Bhat, All India Convener, Kutumba Prabhodana, Rashtreeya Swayam Sevaka Sangha spoke on the very purpose of establishing the said service complex. The VIPs attended the function planted the Coconut Trees at the space earmarked for tree park, to commemorate the event. March 2021	:	The work of digging 02 open wells completed, including applying concrete rings in the wells. Foundation Stone Laying ceremony of “Seva Chetana” residential project was held at Madhava Vana on Sunday 21.11.2021 at 10.02 am in presence of following VIPs. November 2021	:	All the Trustees, Local VIPs, Donors and Well wishers, Volunteers of Seva Bharathi, villagers present during the occasion. Smt. Sumathi V Shenoy, the Founder president of Seva Bharathi ® Mangalore planting the coconut plant at the site on 23.10.2020 to commemorate Bhoomi Pooja and Foundation Laying ceremony.

Shri Kajampady Subrahmanya Bhat, All India Convener, Kutumba Prabhodana, Rashtreeya Swayam Sevaka Sangha spoke on the very purpose of establishing the Campus for Divyang service, on the occasion of Foundation Laying ceremony on 23.10.2020.

Shri Kota Shrinivas Poojary, Hon. Minister, Muzrai, Fisheries, Port, Inland Transport, Govt. of Karnataka and District i/c Minister of Dakshina Kannada District, along with VIPs/guests, released a brochure seeking the support of the public in building studio apartments for the ‘invisible care givers’, on the occasion of Foundation Laying ceremony on 23.10.2020.
